    Display of fire safety instructions


    Scope of application

    Establishments in which more than 50 persons may be occupied or usually assembled, as well as those, whatever their size, where flammable materials are handled and used, must display the fire safety instructions.

    Description

    Establishments in which usually more than fifty people may be employed or assembled, as well as those, whatever their size, where flammable materials are handled and used, a fire safety instruction is established and displayed very prominently. :
    • in each premises for premises with more than five persons and for the premises mentioned in Article R. 4227-24;
    • in each room or in each release serving a group of premises in other cases.
    In other establishments, instructions are established, allowing the rapid evacuation of all the occupants or their delayed evacuation, when this is necessary, under conditions of maximum security.

    The fire safety instruction is communicated to the labor inspectorate.

    The fire safety instruction states:
    1. Extinguishing and emergency equipment in or near the premises;
    2. The persons responsible for putting this material into action;
    3. For each premises, the persons in charge of the evacuation of the workers and possibly the public;
    4. Specific measures related to the presence of persons with disabilities, including the number and location of secure waiting areas or equivalent spaces;
    5. The means of alert;
    6. The persons in charge of informing the firemen from the beginning of a fire;
    7. The address and telephone number of the first-call emergency service, in apparent characters;
    8. The duty, for any person perceiving a beginning of fire, to give the alarm and to implement the means of first aid, without waiting for the arrival of the specially designated workers.
