Information on the safe use of articles containing substances
Scope of application
All chemical substances manufactured in or imported into the European Union in quantities of one tonne or more per year and considered as a Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC).
Description
The manufacturers and importers concerned must ensure that the chemical substance considered "dangerous" or "very high concern" is used safely in accordance with the instructions in the safety data sheet (SDS).
Similarly, suppliers of articles containing substances on the candidate list in concentrations above 0.1% w/w established in the EU or EEA must provide sufficient information to allow safe use of the article by their customers.
Thus, upon request from a consumer, suppliers of articles containing substances listed as dangerous or candidate substances in a concentration above 0.1% w/w established in the EU or EEA must provide sufficient information to allow safe use of the article. This information must be provided within 45 days of receipt of the application.
