Mandatory services of a bed and breakfast
Scope of application
Any person who rents out bed and breakfast accommodation (i.e. furnished rooms located in the home with a view to receiving tourists, for a fee, for one or more nights, with services).
Description
The bed and breakfast activity consists of the grouped provision of overnight accommodation and breakfast.
Each guest room has access to a shower room and a toilet and must have either :

- a minimum surface area of 9 square metres (m²) - excluding sanitary facilities - with a minimum ceiling height of 2.20 metres
- or a habitable volume of at least 20 cubic metres (m3) if the ceiling height cannot exceed 2 metres.
It complies with the regulations in force in the areas of hygiene, safety and sanitation. Linen is provided as a minimum.
Note: if ancillary services are provided with the nights or stay, they must be displayed in the room, as well as the rate of the tourist tax.
The use of the name "chambre d'hôte" in order to mislead the consumer, when the maximum capacity is exceeded, will result in the hirer being sanctioned.
