Notification to ECHA of dangerous substance or substance of very high concern (SVHC)
Scope of application
All chemical substances manufactured in or imported into the European Union in quantities of one tonne or more per year and considered dangerous, of very high concern (SVHC) or on the authorisation list.
Description
Producers or importers of articles established in the EU or EEA must notify ECHA of the presence in their article of a substance on the Dangerous Substances List or candidate for authorisation.
This obligation also applies if the substance is present in these articles in quantities exceeding a total of one tonne per producer or importer per year and if the substance is present in these articles in a concentration exceeding 0.1% w/w.
Notifications must be submitted no later than six months after inclusion on the list of dangerous or candidate substances.
