This training is mandatory for the issuance of an operating permit and consists of lessons lasting at least 20 hours spread over at least 3 days. For people who offer one or more guest rooms for rent, it consists of lessons lasting 7 hours in 1 day. If the person concerned has 10 years of professional experience as an operator, the training lasts at least 6 hours.

At the end of this training, the people referred to in the previous paragraph must have knowledge in particular of the provisions of this code relating to the prevention and fight against alcoholism, the protection of minors and the suppression of public drunkenness, but also the legislation on narcotics, the resale of tobacco, the fight against noise, the facts likely to lead to an administrative closure, the general principles of the civil and criminal liability of natural and legal persons and the fight against discrimination.

It gives rise to the issuance of an operating permit valid for 10 years. At the end of this period, participation in training to update knowledge makes it possible to extend the validity of the operating license for a further period of ten years.
